Prevent fires! According to the National Fire Protection Association, "Chimneys, fireplaces & vents should be inspected at least once a
          year."

          Even if you don't use your chimney much, animals may build nests in the flue or there may be other types of deterioration that could 
          make your chimney unsafe.

          There were 16,800 dryer vent fires last year, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The C.P.C.S. also reported

          30 deaths, 420 injuries and $97.3 million in property damage.
